There has been alot of excitement in the lacrosse community recently.

LAXtravaganza 2004 was held on June 12 at the Academy of Holy Angels in Richfield. The weather was beautiful and the there was plenty of great lacrosse played. A big thanks to everyone who attended and especially to the following people who organized the event: Megan Grande (Chair and Tshirts), Dave Rundquist (Raffle), Brad Scibak (Raffle), Janet Holdsworth (Sportsmanship Awards), Dave Holdsworth (High School Girls), Guy Jones (High School Girls), Matt Dunbar (High School Boys), Chris Larson (College Men), Kelsey Reed (College Women and Rosters), Maureen Novak (Publicity), Shawn Patterson (Concessions) and the Holy Angels staff. I apologize if I missed anyone. and anyone else I may have mised.

In Girls' High School play, Bloomington Kennedy repeated as the NSLA club champion while Eden Prairie won the MSHSL varsity tournament.

Eden Prairie won the Minnesota Boys' Scholastic Lacrosse Assocation state title.

The University of Minnesota Duluth won the Upper Midwest Lacrosse League championship and took part in the US Lacrosse Mens' Division Intercollegiate Asssociates National Tournament in St. Louis last month.

Lacrosse is growing across the state. My home town newspaper, the New Ulm Journal, has run a front page photo as well as a feature article on a pick up league starting in New Ulm, a town of just 13,000 about 90 miles from the Twin Cities. Check out the article here.

The day after the NCAA Men's Division I championship between Navy and Syracuse, none other than Sid Hartman mentioned what a great game it was on WCCO-AM!

As always we need people to support the growth of the sport at all levels. If you are interested, please visit our Contact Us link or click here to go there now.

Thanks for visiting the Minnesota Lacrosse Association online! I hope to see you on the field soon!
